Neighborhood rated 4.5 out of 5 in NCQA’s Medicaid Health Plan Ratings 2024, ranking in the top 7% of Medicaid health plans nationally
September 15, 2024 (Smithfield, RI) – Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island (Neighborhood) today announced that it has once again been rated 4.5 out of 5 in NCQA’s Medicaid Health Plan Ratings 2024. This rating, which is a significant achievement in the healthcare industry, puts Neighborhood in the top seven percent of all Medicaid plans across the country for this year and continues Neighborhood’s streak of placing in the top 10 percent of Medicaid plans for all 21 years of NCQA’s ratings.
In NCQA’s 2024 ratings, Neighborhood is one of 14 health plans out of 201 across the country to receive an overall rating of 4.5 (no Medicaid health plan received a 5 out of 5 rating). Notably, Neighborhood scored 4 out of 5 for Patient Experience and 4.5 out of 5 for Prevention and Equity.

The Health Plan Ratings are released annually by NCQA, an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to assessing and reporting on the quality of healthcare plans, programs, and organizations across the country.

According to NCQA’s Health Plan Ratings methodology, the organization “rates health plans that choose to report measures publicly.” Three sets of quality measures determine ratings, including clinical quality and health outcomes, patient experience, and health quality processes (as determined by NCQA Accreditation). Neighborhood has held its NCQA Accreditation since 2001.
