Neighborhood monitors and evaluates the important aspects of care and services rendered to its members with particular emphasis and focus on accessibility to care, availability of services, member satisfaction, and health outcomes. This information is captured through routine health plan reporting, annual HEDIS® and CAHPS® results (see below), assessment of provider and member satisfaction, accessibility and availability standards, utilization trends, and specially designed quality improvement studies.
Neighborhood assesses its performance against identified goals and objectives that are evidence-based and align with both local and national industry standards.
Our HEDIS Results
HEDIS stands for Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set. It is a standardized set of performance measures created to provide consumers and purchasers with information to compare performance of managed health care plans. HEDIS development and maintenance is sponsored and supported by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). HEDIS is one of the most widely used systems of health care performance measures in the United States. HEDIS results are based on statistically valid samples of members and are rigorously audited by an NCQA certified HEDIS auditor using a process designed by NCQA. NCQA requires accredited health plans to report the required audited HEDIS performance measures to NCQA.

Benchmarks
Neighborhood uses the Quality Compass® Medicaid results for HEDIS measures as a benchmark. Quality Compass Medicaid is published by NCQA, and includes benchmarks for each HEDIS measure at the 90th, 75th, 50th, 25th, and 10th percentiles.
Our CAHPS Results
CAHPS® stands for Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems. All managed care organizations (MCOs) seeking accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) are required to annually survey their members about the service and care provided. NCQA uses the information from the CAHPS survey along with other information to determine a health plan’s accreditation status.
