Preventative health means doing the things you can do to keep you and your children from getting sick. Neighborhood is dedicated to helping our members stay healthy, including providing education, and coverage for immunizations and lead screening.

Vaccinations (Immunizations)
Neighborhood covers vaccinations for both children and adults. Vaccinations are an important part of keeping you healthy.

  • Childhood immunizations help fight the flu, chicken pox, measles, and many more illnesses. Ask your pediatrician about recommended immunizations for your child.
  • Adults also need immunizations to fight dangerous illnesses and infections. These immunizations are especially important if you are pregnant, have a medical condition such as asthma, diabetes, or are over 50 years of age. Ask your doctor about recommended immunizations.

Lead Screening
Because lead poisoning often occurs with no obvious symptoms, it can be easily missed by parents. It is important that every child be screened for lead at least once by their 1st birthday.

Neighborhood sends every member child a postcard during the month of their 1st birthday to remind parents to have their child screened for lead.
