Coverage Limitations and Exclusions
Services not covered by the RIte Care program or by Medical Assistance:

• Cosmetic surgery
• Experimental procedures
• Private rooms in hospitals (unless medically necessary)
• Treatment of infertility.
• Abortion services, except to preserve the life of the woman, or in case of rape or incest.
• Institution of Mental Diseases (IMD) services for individuals age 21-65 (except for Butler Hospital).
• Specific Health Care Procedure Coding Systems (HCPCS) codes not covered under the State plan, as defined in the Rhode Island Medical Assistance Program Fee Schedule.
