Rhode Island Community Health Centers Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island was founded in 1993 by the 13 community health centers (CHCs) in the State. The community health centers are the cornerstones for effective primary care in Rhode Island, serving more than 100,000 people each year. CHCs serve as the defacto "safety net" for people in our state and country, caring for all people regardless of ability to pay. Neighborhood's strong relationship with the Rhode Island CHCs has given it invaluable perspective on the needs of both members and providers alike.
